Me And My Sisters

I have not one but two of the greatest sisters. They are both celebrating birthdays this month.
Nancy was born while I was at a "Brownie Hootenany". I came home and my mom was gone to the hospital. She brought Nancy home a few days later.
Nancy has gone back to school to become a school teacher. I really admire her for that. She has 4 beautiful kids.

Lori was born when I was a teen-ager so I helped raise her! It was always fun to take her places.

She also has 4 great kids.

We have changed alot over the years. (Thank goodness!)

I love my sisters and want to wish them a Happy Birthday!

Fire!

November 15 started out to be a beautiful but windy day. About 10:00 am the sky was looking smoky since there was a fire in Corona. With the Santana winds in full force, the fired spread really fast and it was coming towards our neighborhood. East Yorba Linda got hit first and the results were devastating. Many people lost their homes. I stood on our balcony and watched the water helicopters and airplanes go right over us.
We were evacuated from our new house about 4:00 pm. We packed up most of our photos and important documents. (We just moved the week before so they were still in boxes.) The fire was still spreading rapidly. We went over to the old house. Robin & Daniel were in San Diego. The sky was an eerie color.
Another fire was burning in Brea and the flames could be seen on the hill. We were evacuated from the Walnut house about 9:00 pm. We went to Gil's office and spent the night there. The next morning we were able to get back to the Walnut house but not the new house.
We finally were able to go home about 4:00 pm. I was surprised to see how close the fire had been to our home. The hills all around are black.

A Quarter Of A Century!!!!

Today is Robin's birthday. She is 25. Not only is she getting older but that means we all are! Robin was such a cute, loving baby.

She had white, fly-away hair that made her look like a dandelion.
Robin has a zest for life. We always called her the "chocolate chip" of our family.
She brought fun into our lives.

Through the years Robin just gets more beautiful inside and out. She still has a zest for life and is still our "chocolate chip"!
She is a wonderful mom (she grinds her own baby food) and wife (she lets Daniel watch all the soccer he wants) and daughter. Diego is one lucky boy to have her as a mom.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADRE!
We love you!

11 Going On 12!

I seem to be failing at blogging! Sorry!

On Friday, October 3, my baby girl turned 11. That's right, Holly Ann is now 11 years old!
Knowing she was my last baby, I would sit and rock and rock her. Life was much calmer for me since the older kids were all in school. Holly and I had most of the day together.
She celebrated with nine friends on Friday with a sports and swimming party, then off to eat pizza and cupcakes.

Holly has grown up to be a wonderful loving girl. We have lots of fun together and she makes us laugh. I can't imagine our life without her.

Here are some of her favorites:
Color-green and blue
Food-tacos
Dessert-cinnamon bundt cake
TV Show-Zack & Cody
Book-Fablehaven
Movie-Harry Potter #3

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HOLLY!

Sunday, October 5 was also a special day. Daniel Adlong had his 28th birthday. We are glad he is part of our family. After all, he is the father of my grandson!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIEL!
